What does this astrology transit calculator show?
This astrology transit calculator searches a 30- or 90-day range for exact major aspects between moving planets and reliable points in your natal chart. It returns peak dates in the birth location's time zone, direct or retrograde motion, and repeat-pass numbers instead of showing only one day's crowded transit chart.
The result is personal because each moving longitude is compared with your supported natal degrees, not with a generic Sun-sign forecast. "Important" means higher priority under AstroZen's published filter: slower transiting planets, contacts to the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or Midheaven, conjunctions and harder major aspects, and repeat passes receive more weight. The top six dates in a 30-day range or top ten in a 90-day range are selected by default, and every selection remains editable.
The calculation identifies symbolic timing used in Western astrology. It does not prove or guarantee that a particular event will occur.
Calculation method
A peak, not a daily duplicate.
01
Calculate the natal chart
Tropical geocentric positions use the recorded local time, resolved IANA time zone, and birthplace coordinates.
02
Scan candidate intervals
The selected 30-day or 90-day window is sampled every twelve hours for major aspect crossings.
03
Refine the exact contact
Each bracketed crossing is refined by bisection until the peak time is stable within the published tolerance.
04
Group repeat passes
Direct and retrograde crossings of the same natal point are numbered as one connected sequence.
| Mode | Transiting planets | Aspects | Natal points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Focus | Jupiter through Pluto | Conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition | Personal planets, Jupiter, Saturn, ASC and MC when reliable |
| Detailed | Adds Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars | Same five major aspects | All supported natal planets and reliable angles |
Published fixture
A repeat-pass case you can audit.
Synthetic natal point · No customer data
With a synthetic natal Sun at 14°30' Aries and a 90-day window beginning June 1, 2026 UTC, the current engine identifies Saturn's conjunction twice: a direct pass on July 9 and a retrograde pass on August 12. Both peaks resolve within 0.001° in the executable fixture.

Astrology Transit Calculator FAQ
What is a personal transit calendar?
A personal transit calendar compares current planetary positions with the zodiac degrees in one natal chart. AstroZen lists exact major-aspect peaks in date order, identifies repeat passes caused by retrograde motion, and explains why an event was included.
Is this a natal transits search engine or a one-date chart?
It is a date-range natal transit calculator. AstroZen searches a 30- or 90-day window for exact major aspects between moving planets and reliable natal points, then ranks the peak dates and groups repeat passes. It does not draw a visual bi-wheel for one selected instant.
What transits am I going through right now?
Enter your birth record and set the timeline start to today. Focus mode checks Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto first so slower contacts are not buried under a long list of short transits.
Can I calculate natal transits without a birth time?
Yes, with limits. Unknown-time mode omits the Moon, Ascendant, Midheaven, and houses. Remaining peak dates are labeled as date-based estimates because the exact natal degrees still depend partly on the missing time.
Why can the same transit appear more than once?
A planet can cross one natal degree, turn retrograde, cross it again, and later return in direct motion. AstroZen groups those contacts as numbered passes instead of treating them as duplicate results.
Does this tool use AI to interpret my chart?
No. Planetary positions and aspect times are calculated deterministically. Short explanations come from a versioned editorial dictionary, not an AI model, and do not predict guaranteed events.
Can I add selected transit dates to my calendar?
Yes. The full free result stays online, while you can select individual dates and create a standard .ics calendar file for Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook. Timed entries adjust to your calendar's time zone; unknown-birth-time estimates become all-day dates. The file includes the selected transit labels and brief explanations, not your birth details, and adds no automatic alerts.

Know what the tool uses.
Planetary positions use the MIT-licensed Astronomy Engine. City coordinates and IANA time zones come from a locally packaged GeoNames dataset under CC BY 4.0. No city query is sent to GeoNames.
