The Ascendant is not a slowly moving planet. It depends on the local horizon at a particular UTC instant, latitude, and longitude. A different recorded time, a daylight-saving conversion error, or a different birthplace can produce a different result.
AstroZen resolves the historical time zone before calculating the chart. When an exact time is not known, the tool keeps date-based information that remains supportable and leaves the Rising sign, Midheaven, houses, and other time-dependent factors out.

What do I need to calculate my Rising sign?
Use your birth date, the recorded local time of birth, and the city and country where you were born. The Ascendant is a horizon calculation, so time and place are both required.
Can I find my Rising sign without a birth time?
Not reliably from the date alone. AstroZen's date-only mode omits the Ascendant, Midheaven, houses, and other time-dependent factors rather than presenting an invented result.
Why can two Rising sign calculators disagree?
Check the local time, historical time-zone and daylight-saving conversion, birthplace coordinates, zodiac framework, and house system before comparing outputs. A different house system does not change the Ascendant itself, but it can change house assignments.
Does the BaZi part of AstroZen change my Rising sign?
No. AstroZen calculates BaZi and Western astrology as separate systems. The selected sex is used only for the traditional BaZi luck-cycle rule; it does not affect Western planetary positions, the Ascendant, or houses.
